Janet has been teaching the art of harp playing for over 25 years in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Many of her students have won scholarships and awards. Some of her former students are graduates of Harvard, Columbia, Drexel, Bryn Mawr, others have gone on to solo harp careers, orchestra positions, free lance work, and continue to play long into adulthood.
Janet's expertise in classical and celtic harp repertoire has given her an outstanding reputation nationally and internationally. The Brandywine Harp Orchestra, which she founded along with her students in 2000, has the distinction of being the first American celtic harp orchestra to perform at the Edinburgh International Harp Festival. Janet will lead a workshop and performance there with the orchestra in April 2009. |
Janet has also been on faculty at the Ohio Scottish Arts School, Beginning in the Middle, The American Harp Society Conference in Philadelphia, The Pacific Harp Institute, and is currently teaching at the Wilmington Music School in Delaware.
